Travel Agents + Booking Sites
Roar Africa: We used Deb and her team for our trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe and they did not disappoint. Fabulous recommendations, thorough planning and great support during our trip. I got too sick to travel and they arranged a private charter and hotel for an unexpected night in Johhannesberg. Use them!
LivItaly -- I used them to book private tours and transfers throughout Italy and they are the best. Kristen, who helped me plan, was attentive and even met us at our first stop. The guides in each City were clearly experts and locals. We took Livitaly tours in Rome, Pompeii, Florence, Sienna and Venice. I can't say enough about them.
Costco Travel -- if you're a member, this is a great place to book travel. I booked a 7-day trip to Maui at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua in my jammies. I love that they will show you room upgrade options and price before you complete your purchase. Also known to have good deals on popular trips like Disney Cruises.
Expedia -- my go-to online site for booking travel. We once had an Aspen ski trip interrupted due to weather and the Expedia staff were very helpful and helped us get a full refund. To make booking easier register your travel preferences once and they'll be there when you return.
Five Star Alliance -- this is a great place to find luxury hotels all over the world. Their directory includes many of the large luxury chains, but also includes smaller boutique accommodations and villas that are every bit as luxurious.
Fly -- this is a great place to check out flights and fares. Searches will show multiple airlines and prices from multiple search engines including Expedia and Orbitz. Note that some airlines (like Southwest) only sell tickets through their own website and won't show up in searches, so you'll need to check those sites separately.
